Marijoy Bertolini

Resident Foil Coach

Marijoy Bertolini joins Marx Fencing Academy as a foil coach, returning to the sport she loves after a long hiatus from competition. She trained under legendary Olympic and U.S. National Foil Coach Buckie Leach and was the first of his students to qualify for a Junior World Team.

During her competitive career, Marijoy earned numerous achievements, including becoming a Division II National Champion and representing the United States on both the Women’s Junior World Team and the Women’s Junior Pan American Team.

Marijoy has been involved with Marx Fencing Academy for some time, generously volunteering with classes and sharing her experience with our athletes. She now looks forward to continuing that work in her new coaching role and supporting the development of our foil program.
