Designed for kids between the ages of 7-12 with no prior fencing experience, the Youth Beginner Program lays the foundational knowledge, physical, and technical skills for fencing. Upon completion of the curriculum, students will be invited to continue in the Youth Intermediate Program. The MFA offers in-house events for students to learn about competitions.

This program is offered with unlimited Youth Beginner classes.

Youth Intermediate Program

The Youth Intermediate Program caters to fencers between the ages 7-12 who have completed the assessment of foundational skills in the Youth Beginner Program. Athletes will try their hand at foil or epee in a more challenging environment. Students are given a study guide of skills which will be covered and assessed each week. Upon completion of their skills, they will be invited to continue in the Youth Advanced Program.  Students at this level must own electrical fencing equipment and be attired appropriately for each class. The MFA offers in-house events and exchanges with friendly clubs to allow the students to compete locally.

This program is offered with unlimited Youth Intermediate classes.

Youth Advanced Program

NEW THIS SEASON - The Youth Advanced Program is designed for those fencers who have passed the Youth Intermediate Program and now need to practice those skills with their peers under the supervision of the MFA coaching staff. As the athletes practice together the coaches will take the students aside as needed to work on any technical or tactical skill that requires attention. At this stage, students would have been sorted to specialize in either the foil or epee and our encouraged to begin competing in local competitions appropriate for their age and level. Students at this level must own all fencing equipment and be attired appropriately for each class.

This program is offered with unlimited Youth Advanced classes.

Core - Foil and Epee

NEW THIS SEASON - MFA is pleased to offer a new program that is open to all adults and athletes who have completed the Youth Advanced Program (previously the Competitive Beginner). The class is designed to offer comprehensive training catered towards:

  • The Teen who wants to fence but not necessarily compete.

  • The Adult Fencer who has never fenced or is returning to the sport.

  • The Veteran Fencer who is seeking or actively pursuing Veteran competitions at the local, regional or national level. 

The course will cover the entirety of the sport of fencing. It is a “go at your own pace” course which provides the opportunity for constant growth within the sport. Athletes in this program are encouraged to compete in the events they feel comfortable in.

This program is offered with the option of 4 classes per month (avg 1x per week) or with unlimited Core classes.

Competitive Program - Foil and Epee

10 Month Program - Lesson Packages Included

The Competitive Advanced Program is open to fencers who are rated and actively competing at regional and national events. Students in this program attend classes and open bouting sessions up to 5 times per week and receive private lessons. Goals at this level may include making a national team or competing for an NCAA college. As such, this program requires a 10-month commitment.

Private lessons are available to any member to hone and develop their skills. Lessons are tiered, with each tier providing access to all listed coaches. All lessons and lesson packs expire after 6 months from date of sale. Please make a reservation by calling us or using our Member Portal.
